While we encourage any person of any age to learn to code on CodeMonkey, our curriculum was created for grades K-8 (ages 4 to 14+).

For the appropriate course for your student's age group, we recommend starting with the following:

  • Grades K-1 (ages 4-6): "CodeMonkey Jr.", Pre-reader Block Coding

  • Grades 1-2 (ages 6-8): "Beaver Achiever", Early-reader Block Coding

  • Grades 3-5 (ages 7-16): "Coding Adventure", Beginner Text Coding

  • Grades 3-5 (ages 7-10): "Dodo Does Math", Math challenges using Text Coding

  • Grades 3-5 (ages 8-11): "Digital Literacy", Learn-Play-Review, Digital Citizenship & Use

  • Grades 5-6 (ages 10-12): "Game Builder", Intermediate Text Coding

  • Grades 5-6 (ages 10-12): "Data Science", Learn-Play-Review

  • Grades 5-8 (ages 10-14): "Artificial Intelligence", Learn-Play-Review

  • Grades 7-8 (ages 12-14): "Banana Tales", Intermediate Python Course

  • Grades 8+ (ages 13+): "Coding Chatbots", Advanced Python Course

We believe anyone can learn to code, and that each one has their own learning curve and pace. Therefore, we encourage you and your students to explore the courses outside of their age group, as it can be helpful for either more basic or more challenging coding concepts.
