Assessing student mastery of keyboarding skills is an important part of their development. CodeMonkey offers both pre-generated quizzes as well as the option to create your own custom keyboarding quiz to provide teachers with insight into how well their students are learning and retaining the skills being taught in our courses.
Check out the directions below to see how you can assign a pre-generated quiz or create your own custom option:
Start from the "My Classrooms" tab on the menu. Select the classroom you want to assign a quiz to, and click on it in the classroom table.
2. Next, click on the "Quizzes" tab, confirm you are on the "Assign Quiz" sub-tab, and click "+ Assign new quiz".
3. Select the top option of "Create New Keyboarding Quiz" and click the green "CREATE" button.
You will see a new pop-up window with an auto-generated Keyboarding quiz. This will be based on the grade level attached to the CodeMonkey Classroom. From here, you can customize the settings of the grade level, rename the quiz, change the accuracy, WPM, and duration, as well as input your own passage! When ready, click "CREATE AND ASSIGN QUIZ".
After Assigning:
After you have assigned a quiz, back in the "Assign Quizzes" sub-tab, you can click on the more options 3-dot menu beside the quiz to view the results, try it yourself as a teacher, edit the due date, or unassign the quiz.
Quiz Results:
To review student scores, click on the "Quiz Results" sub-tab.
Use the carrot at the top right-hand side of the page to expand the section. You will then easily be able to see the percentage of students who have completed the quiz, as well as each individual student's score. You will be able to view the final grade, the date, the number of attempts, and the time taken for the student to complete the quiz.
