To rank solutions, we use a star rating system. Students receive star ratings after completing challenges. The stars are distributed as follows:
If the challenge is completed, the first star is awarded, for example, in Coding Adventure - all the bananas were collected. Students receive a second star if they apply what they've learned in that chapter (the coding concept the course is associated with), and the third star is awarded for short, concise codes.
Based on the stars, grading is done as follows:
A one-star solution is worth 30 points
A two-star solution is worth 80 points
A three-star solution is worth 100 points
Using the dropdown menu below, teachers can view grades by number, percentage, or letters as per their preference. Numbers are converted to letters as follows:
An 'A' is equivalent to a grade between 90-100
A 'B' is equivalent to a grade between 80-89
A 'C' is equivalent to a grade between 70-79
A 'D' is equivalent to a grade between 60-69
An 'F' is anything below that
Yellow circles
indicate that the student hasn't finished the course. It will be displayed for any student who is not eligible for a final grade, which can include both students who haven't started the course and students who have completed 99%.
