For Coding Adventure, we use a star rating to rank solutions. After every completed challenge the student gets a star rating on their solution. The stars are distributed in the following way:

  • First star is given if all the bananas were caught
  • Second star is given if user used what they learned
  • Third star is given if the code is short and to the point

Grading for Coding Adventure works based on the stars:

  • A one star solution is worth 20 points
  • A two star solution is worth 60 points
  • A three star solution is worth 100 points
  • An assessment challenge has twice the weight as other challenges.
